I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and everything's looking good. My blood pressure was much better than it's been in a while, my heart rate was lower (still slightly high, but not bad), and I'd lost a pound (common for the end of pregnancy, and especially since I've been battling nausea again). My fingers and feet are still pretty swollen (the joints in my hands ache like crazy and my pinkie toe and the one next to it are numb on each foot), but as long as my blood pressure is where it is, they're not worried about the swelling. After all, we've already hit 100 degrees 11 times since June 21st (104 yesterday) and we're hovering around the century mark for the rest of the week, so who isn't swollen???? I'll just keep chugging 80+ounces of water every day in hopes of keeping it somewhat at bay.
My mom asked the doctor how big he thought the baby was (we've all been expecting a 5-6 pounder 'cause that's how big Amy and I were), he felt around my tummy and said that he thinks right now she's about mid to low 7s and that if I go too much longer she'll be an easy 8 pounder. You can imagine that my jaw just about hit the floor. I was expecting a pipsqueak!!! I've decided, and I dare any of you to challenge me on this, that this extra weight she has is in her feet...our little one is going to have big feet!!!! Sounds reasonable right?!?!
