busy day!

The Army does this thing where they have all the babies who are 2 weeks old come in for a well-baby appointment. The baby gets weighed and measured, you see a pediatrician, get screened for post-partum depression, and then listen to the doctor's talk about caring for the baby. Kyra's appointment was this morning. There were about 20 other babies in there too! It was total chaos with all the screaming babies, their moms, and most of the moms had someone there with them so there were something like 40 adults and 20 2 week-olds all in the waiting room. Can you say craziness?!?!

Anyway, Kyra's weight is up to 8lbs 3oz....so she's gained 9oz since birth and 13oz since her appointment last Monday. She's a good little eater! She's also an inch shorter....the only part of her that's actually shrunk is her cone head so she lost an inch in height since her head is now round. How funny is that?!?! Everything else with the appointment was rather uninteresting...

This afternoon I took my mom to the airport in Oklahoma City (it was just Kyra and I coming home, and it went pretty well once I got her fed and changed twice-she seems to like riding in the car when she's not hungry or wet!). I was sad to see mom go as it was soooo helpful to have her here! She fixed my lunch everyday, did our laundry, entertained the dogs, kept Kyra occupied so I could nap, did grocery shopping, fixed dinner, and countless other things that totally spoiled the Todd household. I know it's time for us to start "doing this" on our own and she needs to get home so she can start figuring out what her retired life is going to look like (well, she'll start figuring that out after she recovers from her time down here), but we're all going to miss her a lot!!!!!
