I thought I posted this yesterday, but it's not there today...Not sure why, but I must have forgot to hit the "publish post" button or something silly like that! Things here are OK. We're still having computer troubles. Our wireless internet only works if you're less than 10 feet from the router. Basically it means we have the laptop on the desk hooked up to the internet and that's the only way to be connected. Not too big of a deal other than it means I can't put my feet and they swell so quick that I can't sit here long.
I woke up Friday morning with more energy than I've had in months. It was wonderful! I got 4 loads of laundry done (sheets, towels, comforter, blankets), all 4 dogs dishes washed, the dog poop picked up out of the backyard and their water trough cleaned out, the trash taken out and kitty litter scooped, the dishwasher loaded, ran, and emptied, and 2 loads of laundry that I had done earlier in the week folded and put away (don't tell my dad that I let laundry sit in a basket for a few days-the laundry man would not approve), all before 11am.
We didn't do much this weekend. Jeremy volunteered (he was very impressed when a 3 year-old climbed one of the "mountains" at the refuge); I got more of the stuff purchased that we'll need for lil' Gherkin when she comes home (you know, baby wipes, bottles, pacifiers, etc.); and pretty much just tried to stay cool.
As for lil' Gherkin (according to www.babycenter.com): She now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. Babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
Kinda crazy to think we're this close to the end of pregnancy and the beginning of parenthood!!!!
