the world according to Kyra

Kyra: Mommy, birds crap eggs!

I 'bout fell off the couch laughing...one should note, Kyra says "crap" when she means "crack" or "fold." But, still....it was too funny!

She also frequently calls me Mrs. Mommy these days...probably 'cause I call her Miss. Kyra...

I have pictures to post, but can't get it to work tonight so you'll just have to wait 'til I have energy to try again!

conversations with Kyra

My gorgeous girl is, still, obsessed with poop. She wants to touch, hold etc. hers, Liam's, Hokey's. I'm constantly having to tell her, "We don't touch/hold poo-poo." A conversation while changing her stinky diaper the other night went something like this:

Kyra: I hold my poo-poo?
Me: No, you know we don't hold poo-poo...
Kyra: Please!
Me: Kyra, if you grow-up and be a doctor, then you can hold poo-poo
Kyra: OK!

Now, if you ask Kyra what she wants to be when she grows up her answer is: I be doctor, I hold poo-poo!!!!

At least she hasn't asked to hold poo-poo in a few days!

Liam's Recipe for a Mohawk

Mohawk Recipe
1 part diced peaches
2 parts sweet potatoes
1 helping cheetos
With your hands, rub above ingredients thoroughly throughout entire hair. It is preferable to do this while Mom isn't looking.
Finally, have Mom take wet washcloth and attempt to remove said ingredients from hair.

Pretty scenery

Last weekend and into the beginning of the week, the kids and I went to my folks' cabin so I could help my dad paint the interior. We spread about 17 or 18 gallons of paint with a roller and brush in 4 days, and didn't finish. But, what we did get done looks fantastic, if I do say so myself! Since painting doesn't make for good pictures (or at least not attractive pictures of the painter), I thought I'd post a couple shots of when we escaped to the outdoors!

Those are moose. No really. They are. I had to take a picture with my camera and then zoom way in to be able to confirm they were moose, and they are. They are the first moose I've seen in the wild outside of Yellowstone.

Pretty moon rise

Dusk settling in on my favorite view

It snowed on those same peaks from above the day we headed home. I love how they look like they're coated in powder sugar!

trip to the State Fair

Jeremy, my folks, and I took a trip to the State Fair at the end of August. The pictures are just fine, but what we didn't capture on film was the best part. Miss. Kyra is obsessed with poop (still). And by obsessed, I mean the girl LOVES poop. I pick-up dog poo, and she wants to sniff the shovel, that obsessed! So, while we were at the fair she was in her poop heaven....We went through the rabbits, she looked at all the poop on the ground; she got to pet a little calf, when it started pooping I thought she was going to climb through the fence to take a closer look; when she rode the pony (see pic below) the highlight of the ride was when the horse in front of us pooped and peed...I literally thought she was going to throw herself off the pony to get to it....I'm telling you, she's either going to be a doctor or a plumber!!!!!
