where have I been?

I had every intention of posting more pics after our trip to the kiddie rides at the park, but....life got in the way. I'd post some today, but Jeremy has my computer with him in Denver and I'm borrowing my mom's laptop, so, no pics. An update on the Todds:

Liam: is growing like a little chubby weed. He goes to the doctor tomorrow and I'm curious to see what he weighs. All I know is that most 6-9 month clothes are too small (and he just turned 6 months yesterday). He's been rolling over for a little while now and on Tuesday he sat up unassissted. He's still wobbly on the sitting up, but he's getting there. I'm good with the sitting up, but he's not allowed to crawl or walk 'til he's 3!!! :) He's still just as sweet and happy as ever. He's teething and that makes him a bit grumpy. Last night he was crying (and he's quite loud when he cries) and Kyra told him, "NO SCREAMIN' IN HOUSE BRUDDER!!!" It was pretty funny!

Kyra: she is just talking non-stop and it just cracks me up. She asks me every morning, "How you day, Mommy?" and I say, "I'm fine, how are you?" to which she responds, "I'm two!" So funny, and so accurate! She loves playing on the swings and slides and last night figured out how to climb up the slide and then slide down as opposed to using the steps. She's getting so big!!!! She has informed me that for her birthday she wants cupcakes and Thomas the Train party hats. I think that's do-able! She doesn't like her brother to touch anything of hers and gasps when he does and says, "Brudder, no touch! Mine _____!" I tell her he can touch her book (that's usually the object he's touching she doesn't want him to) and that she has to share and then she says, "OK, I share!" So silly!

Jeremy: is up at a residential treatment program at the Denver VA for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He'll be there 'til July 15th, but he comes home on Friday evenings and goes back up on Sunday late morning. Some of his issues are starting to improve and some aren't. We're hoping he'll be able to go to another treatment program in Houston once he's done with the program in Denver.

Me: most of my time is spent attempting to keep up with the kids and all the stuff around the house. My tutoring has slowed down tremendously, and while I don't like it for financial reasons, it's been nice to not have that to juggle as well. Last week I went on a cruise with some good friends who were celebrating their 50th anniversary. It was nice to get away (we left from Long Beach, CA and went to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas before returning home) and relax a little. For those who are curious, cruising reminds me a lot of traveling by train. Same kind of movement, but no click-clacking sound; and the same feel as if you're road-tripping. I'd been to Puerto Vallarta before and really liked it. But, I really loved Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. I spent my day in Mazatlan laying in a lounge chair, under a palm hut, sipping a margarita, eating chicken tacos, playing in the ocean, and listening to the waves crash. It was wonderful!!! We only had a few hours in Cabo San Lucas, but it was very pretty, very different. It is more arid, but with lots of tall rocks and "mountains" around it. I would very much like to return to Mazatlan and Cabo and spend some time in each of them. But, I was ready to come home to my kiddos! While I was gone Kyra told everyone, "Mommy on ship!" Now, she tells me, "Mommy on ship, but now mommy home. I happy see you Mommy!" Very sweet, but she tells everything (down to the ducks in the bathtub and her Mickey Mouse ball) that she's happy to see them/it.

I did take some pictures with my phone of the cruise, well, mostly of some sunsets and my view on the beach in Mazatlan and some rocks in Cabo. If I can figure out how to upload them, I will!
