When my parents were in the process of moving their dog stayed with us for a few days and then my sister's dog was with us for a couple of weeks. The first thing Kyra would ask for every morning was one of the dogs; she hugged on them and played with them all day; and every night she tried to sit between their legs and have them read her a book. I'll be the first to admit I've missed having a dog around too, but I was willing to wait 'til at least this summer, or even next summer, to get one. But, as it turns out, the people who bought my parents' house have a dog that's the right size (20-25lbs full grown) and temperament that we want and it had puppies about 6 weeks ago. So, after Easter we're going to get one of the pups. They're Tibetan Terriers and oh so cute! Here are a couple pictures of Kyra meeting the puppy yesterday. I think we're going to get the one in the pics 'cause he just liked sitting in Kyra's lap the whole time we were there.
On a totally unrelated note. The other night Kyra had finished her dinner and I was asking her if she wanted some fruit, yogurt, or something else to eat. Jeremy said, "She wants C-A-K-E." At which point Kyra started saying, "Cake! Cake! Cake!" Earlier this week we were at a restaurant that had a saddle in the waiting area. We let Kyra "ride" it and she called it a horsey. As we were finishing up eating she was getting fidgety and my dad asked what she wanted. I said she wants the "H-O-R-S-E," to which Kyra immediately started saying, "Horsey! Horsey! Horsey!" I think she's a rather intuitive little stink!

My sisters used to spell i-c-e-c-r-e-a-m when I was little. Didn't take me long to catch on; go Kyra!
